Career Consultation and CoachingHelp With Your Television Career
Career Consultation and Coaching
Do you need help in your television career? Do you feel like you could really use someone to talk to about your path in television? Perhaps you’ve talked with friends or colleagues about this business but aren’t getting the advice you need. Maybe your business contacts don’t have enough experience to help you sort out where you want to go, who you want to be. Or you might have questions, concerns or thoughts about your career that you need objective input on. As someone who has mentored over a hundred individuals, I have often been asked for advice and consultation on a person’s career path and choices available to them.
The TV Business
The television business can be very tough, challenging and confusing, especially to someone who is on their way in or their way up. Talk with a hundred successful anything in this business — writers, producers, make-up artists, stunt coordinators, you name it — and you’ll get a hundred different stories as to how they got into the business, and more importantly, how they rose to be successful. A repeated part of many of those answers, however, will be that they connected with someone who was willing to impart their knowledge, experience and advice to the one moving up. Not everyone has connected, successful mentors available to them.
Career Consultant and Coach
This is where my services can be useful. As a career consultant or coach to you, I have the experience and knowledge of having moved up the entry level of the “food chain” (I was a day-hire production assistant when I started in the business). I have changed careers in the television business many times along the way, and I can help you navigate your path to a better position. I’ve worked my way up, been successful, yet also made a thousand mistakes along the way. I’ve also seen hundreds of other people move up in the business, and talked with them about how they did it.
I have the experience and the insight to give you meaningful, helpful career advice, either in a short-term career consultation, or in a longer-term career coaching scenario. (Here is a little more about me.)
How It Works
These consultations work best if you organize your thoughts and questions ahead of time, so as to not waste any of your time while we’re in session. Once you have purchased a session, feel free to send me your general areas of interest for the consultation.
My rates are by-the-hour and the consultation can be done via phone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime or Skype.
You can start with as little as one hour… to as much as you need:
- One hour: $295.00
- Two hours: $590.00
- Three hours: $885.00
- Additional hours beyond three: $275.00 per hour. This special rate only applies if you have previously purchased at least three hours of consultation. (A page password will be sent to you if you wish to use this rate.)
- Multi-hour sessions can be split into separate one-hour sessions, if desired.
If you would like to discuss what you are looking for, so that we can figure out how much time you may need and what your goals are, please contact me with a brief description of what you want to accomplish. If you don’t know what you need, but you know where you want to be, then you might start with a one-hour session. Many people can get great clarity as to how to improve their career with a one-hour session.
Longer-term career coaching can also be set up. We’ll need to talk to discuss what it is you’d like to achieve. I can then propose a series of consultations, spread out over a number of weeks or months. If you are interested in a long-term plan, please contact me.
If you have any questions, please contact me. Once you have purchased a consultation, I will be in touch to A) obtain your pertinent documents and/or B) if the consultation is a call or includes a call, to schedule it when it's convenient for you. Consultation calls can be via phone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, FaceTime or Skype video. Not all consultations include a call, some are only done via documents and written notes.
